Starmus Festival joins forces with The Planetary Society to pay tribute to Apollo astronauts

#

The Planetary Society, with its 50.000 members from all over the world, has inspired millions of people to explore other worlds and seek other life. With the mission to empower the world's citizens to advance space science and exploration, its international membership makes the non-governmental Planetary Society the largest space interest group in the world.

Starmus is a global festival of science, art and music that brings together leading scientists, top artists and legendary space explorers. Its aim is to inspire and educate the next generation of space explorers and regenerate the spirit of discovery.

Starmus and The Planetary Society will work together throughout this year to pay tribute to Apollo missions, which is the topic of the next Starmus Festival (Starmus V), to be held in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2019. Two distinguished members of The Planetary Society, Bill Nye and Emily Lakdawalla, will also give lectures at Starmus V.

"I am happy to work on this project with The Planetary Society. It will be a remarkable tribute to the Apollo astronauts and I'm sure will inspire many young people", says Starmus founder and director Dr. Garik Israelian.
